Mother Nature brought an arctic blast to all of Texas this past week which prompted the annual Houston Area Live Steamers Chugga Chilifest train meet activities to be curtailed. (The county even turned off the water to the park for the first portion of the meet.) Several railroaders from Central Texas opted stay warm by putting some time in at the A&TC.
- John O continued work on the trestle’s guard rails with some help from Chris.
- Linda and Sofia attached the 1x2s to the outside edge of the trestle with some help from Chris. This really dressed up the trestle.
- John T, Ken, Paul, and Stephen worked on the steel bridge spans. One bent received a long top cap. The bridges were aligned and attached to the bents. This requires the spans to be trimmed to length. Finally, bridge ties were installed on the first span.
- Luke trimmed the growth under the bridges and lent a hand with various tasks.
